Full Time: Sheffield United 1-0 Arsenal

Well that was fairly uninspired play from the Gunners. Kudos to the Blades for giving their chances at staying up a boost.

Half Time: Blades 1-0 Gunners

By: Trent | Comments No Comments

Sheffield United have had the better afternoon thus far, with Nade’s 40th-minute strike the only goal. It’s rainy, the pitch is crappy, and to drop points here would be quite bad, even with this depleted Arsenal side.

Injury Report or Entire Roster List? You Decide

By: Trent | Comments No Comments

Ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Sheffield United, Arsenal are again dealing with several player injuries.
We all know about Thierry Henry, William Gallas and Freddie Ljungberg. You can add to that roll call Emmanuel Adebayor, Alexander Hleb, Theo Walcott (whose back is evidently all wonky), Emmanuel Eboue and Johan Djourou.
Poor Julio Baptista is suffering from […]

[Blank] is the Next [Blank] All Over Again

By: Trent | Comments 1 Comment

Something there is about football that makes us all want someone to be the next someone else. Our very own Bob has made a cottage industry out of tracking the Next Next Next Maradona and so forth. In that vein, let us take an Arsenal perspective on this most ancient of traditions.
Is the […]

Losers: Henry, Wenger. But also: Cashley.

By: Trent | Comments No Comments

Football365 has unveiled its list of football losers for 2006. Gunners making the list include both the Captain and the Boss. Update: Here’s […]

Help Wanted

Position: striker.
Club: Arsenal.
Qualifications: Breathing, ambulatory, familiar with Microsoft Word. Proclivity for scoring goals a plus.
Experience: English Premier League preferred, pub league acceptable.
Turns out Adebayor’s thigh nick from yesterday’s Watford match will keep him home for the Gunner’s trip to Sheffield United on Saturday. With Henry out until the new year, it’s getting a […]

Full Time: Watford 1-2 Arsenal

By: Trent | Comments 1 Comment

The Gunners have taken all three points thanks to a second-half winner from van Persie. As Liverpool lost earlier, Arsenal are now back in third place.
Lots of chances for Adebayor, who has looked pretty good since Henry was sidelined. Lehmann had a few flighty moments, but fine overall. The first […]

Watford Host Best Team in England

By: Trent | Comments No Comments

At least, that’s what my good friend Robin van Persie says. Objectively, Watford will entertain the Arsenal on this fine Boxing Day.
The Gunners will still be without eight players due to injury in this, the twentieth meeting between the two near-neighbors.
Ideally, the club will welcome back Thierry Henry soon after the new […]
