Full Time: West Ham 0-1 Arsenal
By: Trent |Not a world-beating display, but a nice three points away from home.
The lone goal came from Robin van Persie, who is shown at left battling with (ex) Gunner legend Freddie Ljungberg. Weird.
Also, Hleb was stretchered off, and we’ll be monitoring that as well.
Mo’ latah’.
Half Time: West Ham 0-1 Arsenal
By: Trent |Arsenal took the lead at Upton Park behind a 13th-minute header from Robin van Persie. A very nice start to the match.
And yes, it’s weird to see Freddie Ljungberg in a Hammers uni.
The Soul of the Game
By: Trent |Whatever that might mean, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger thinks England is in danger of losing it. To the Frenchman, fan behaviour is the bellwether for the condition, and therefore the soul, of the game.
Sez the Professor:
“English football is losing his soul. Fans are the keeper of our football. But the first [...]
The Absolute Best Player in England
By: Trent |Here’s a hint: he’s a Spaniard. Also, he is, I think, 12 years old. He is, of course, Cesc Fabregas.
It may seem a little early to wrest the title from a certain winking, prostitute-fancying, fellow-Iberian Red Devil, but I think the (limited) evidence from this year suggests that Fabregas may in fact be [...]
Young Arsenal Hand Newcastle 2-0 Carling Defeat
By: Trent |Arsene Wenger is once again deploying a veritable “B” Team for the Carling Cup this season. So far, so good, as the hosts defeated Newcastle 2-0 behind goals from Nicklas Bendtner and Deilson, each coming in the last 10 minutes of the match.
More later, but you can see the lineups after the jump.
Arsenal Loaded With Dough, Poking Fun at Chelsea
By: Trent |I’m sure you all know by now that Arsenal have announced that the club has breached the £200m revenue mark, thanks in large part to the move from Highbury to the Emirates Stadium. That makes the club the richest in the UK, and obviously among the richest in the world.
Sitting atop [...]
I Wanted to Show You Diaby’s Goal
By: Trent |But before I could post the video of his opening strike against Derby County, the copyright fascists swooped down and nicked it from YouTube. Sigh.
Instead, how about the following, which is “Me Gustas Tu” by Manu Chao, who like Abou Diaby was born in Paris. (Hey, at least there’s a football in the [...]
Full Time: Arsenal 5-0 Derby County
By: Trent |And it was about as close as the scoreline indicates. First half goals from Diaby and Adebayor, were complemented after the break by two more goals from Ade and yet another from Cesc Fabregas.
A thorough beating, although of course not a terribly surprising one. Derby’s road woes continue apace.
Mo’ latah.
Half Time: Arsenal 2-0 Derby County
By: Trent |Arsenal have had the run of play since the beginning. Fabregas had a hand in both goals, the first one being an incredible strike from Diaby. Adebayor put in the second. Not much going on For the Rams thus far.
Derby County Preview & Predictions
By: Trent |Before I get into all that, I’d like to direct you to this story, which is pretty appalling.
Moving on, Derby County visit the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, featuring a matchup of two teams at opposite ends of the table. Arsenal currently sit first (and with a game in hand over several teams). [...]
