Another Colorado native who (still) follows Denver sports very closely. Kroenke is the epitome of the silent owner--he is rarely seen outside his box at the matches of the teams he owns, he speaks with local reporters, but never on record, he throws piles of money at his teams (witness the Nuggets and the trade for Allen Iverson, and the associated luxury tax that must be paid for being over the league salary cap) and he treats his sporting clubs as INVESTMENTS/BUSINESSES. His passion in life is basketball, and that is where he lavishes most of his attention. All "his" teams at one time or another in their recent history has been a contender and he always hires smart people to run the sporting side of the club, and equally smart people to run the business side of the club and he keeps the two distinct and seperate. If he does end up taking control of Arsenal, it will only be a good thing--he is an owner with vast resources (he is married to Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton's daughter, and is a billionaire in his own right now) who stays clear of the day-to-day sporting and business operations of his clubs, and keeps a very low profile. Kind of like a Glazer, but not bat-sh*t insane.:-)

I'm a Colorado guy and I'll say a few words about the avalanche. He's done a great job with them. American sports (other than baseball) have much more parity than EPL and its difficult to keep a team at the top. And even though the Avalanche have had some tough years, he has put smart people in charge (Pierre LaCroix until he retired was the greatest mind in hockey) who have continually kept the team competing at a high level. I think he'd be a great owner for Arsenal and wouldn't interfere with operations.

i hope he joins the board and freshens it up. rethink our marketing (as an asian fan living in america, i can say that there is an amazing, nearly untapped market in asia). give us a more business oriented boardmember with a sport background, unlike lady nina. he can be a great asset to the arse.

that being said, no one should ever take sole ownership arsenal. its my club too. and we shouldnt have to pay for his acquisition like man u fans are.
