Birmingham Thread

Game time. Lineups:

Arsenal: Mannone, Eboue, Gallas, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Fabregas, Song, Diaby, Walcott, van Persie, Rosicky

Birmingham: Hart, Carr, Johnson, Dann, Ridgewell, Larsson, Ferguson, Bowyer, Carsley, McFadden, Jerome

The fact that Mannone isn’t starting ahead of Almunia isn’t so surprising, given that Almunia probably isn’t quite up to game fitness yet. More puzzling is Eboue’s inclusion ahead of Sagna on the right, and especially the fact that Arshavin starts the game on the bench. This is not a walkover game, and I hope Wenger isn’t taking 3 points for granted here. If Arshavin is healthy, for me he should be starting, end of story.

As of this writing, it looks like Chelsea may very well take nothing from the game against Aston Villa, which would mean a win for Arsenal today would take us 4 points from the top, with a game in hand. This could be a tough match-up, but let’s just get out there and take care of business.

Come on Arsenal.
