Full Time: Liverpool 1-1 Arsenal

By: Trent | October 28th, 2007

cescpool.jpgGoals from Gerrard and Cesc Fabregas. Arsenal finished the match with a nice flourish or two, as Cesc hit the bar just a couple minutes from time. The rebound should have been put away, but such is life.

In all, a good result for Arsenal. They’ve got a point from their fist big test of the season, and share the top of the table with Manchester United (with a game in hand). In fact, I’d say the Gunners dominated the match. Anyone thinking they can’t make a title run are deluding themselves.

Question: Does Cesc’s celebratory arm swing remind anyone else of Ivan Lendl? No? Fine.

The rebound should have been put away, but I was praying for just a point so I suppose that’s good enough. I’ve noticed a few dodgy walls since Almunia’s come in and I had a feeling he’d be found out on a free-kick one of these days.

Good challenge from liverpool with their direct plays but looked like the away side on many occasions. The rebound(S) i should mention, Cesc missed one himself. To make it more dramatic, its 2 times hit woodwork, 2 times missed rebound. Such IS life.
And Abby Open up your eyes, Almunia was super solid throughout the match! the only dodginess is Flamini leaving a gap in the wall!

Almunia was good today. I shouldn’t criticize. But I continue to be unconvinced by him and he hasn’t yet proved himself to me. Although if he has more games like today I think he could. Maybe.

Almunia was as “super solid” as Brady Bunch puts it. We played well and were unlucky not to score the rebound.
Liverpool were’nt much of a test really but
what amazes me however is how is Carragher being allowed to pull at people no questions asked.
