No Longer Undefeated
By: Trent | November 27th, 2007
Arsenal’s run of undefeated outings (since April 7 vs. West Ham) has ended, as Sevilla have garnered a nice 3-1 defeat of the visiting Londoners.
As noted below, the team is through to the knockout stages as is, and only order of finish is on the line at this point. Nice to see Eduardo get a great early goal, but it proved to not nearly enough.
Still no defeats in England, however, and plenty of tests on the immediate horizon.

It was clear from Wenger’s team selection and substitutions that winning this game was not overly important to him. With the team we put out the game turned out pretty much as I suspected - Sevilla are no push overs and played a good game. Traore next to Senderos was a particularly weak area and we were left exposed.
We may not remain unbeaten, but you cannot compare the team that lost to Sevilla to our regular team. I am 100% certain the result would have been very different if our starting 11 had played and if Wenger had taken the toughest match in the group a little more seriously.
