Oh My Carling, Oh My Carling

By: Trent | February 23rd, 2007

…Oh my Caaaarling, Clementine. Finally one of the endless cup journeys will end this weekend, when Arsenal face Chelsea in Cardiff for the Carling Cup Final. As you all know, Arsene Wenger has been using a young lineup during this League Cup run, and stars like Thierry Henry will again watch this clash from the sidelines. Bit of a dance with the ones that brung ya approach.

A-Dub thinks his young Gunners have that certain Je ne sais quoi and can pull out the win against a favored Blues side:

“You have singers in England going on the X-Factor where talents are discovered which nobody knew about. I like it because people are brave enough to come out and they want to achieve something in their life. They are ready to be committed to do it. They have a target. People who turn up and are ready to fight for something, like our young players are, I like. It’s the X-Factor Academy!”

At any rate…John Terry appears to be out for Chelsea, meaning that Michael Essien and Ricardo Carvalho will have to assume more defensive duties.

The Arsenal haven’t had much luck scoring against Chelsea lately, so a high-coring affair doesn’t seem likely. Although with Julio Baptista running about, I suppose he could be good for 4 or 5 goals. After all, it is a Cup competition

I had picked Arsenal to win 2-1, solely based on John Terry’s absence. Now, I have no clue. Arsenal weren’t too impressive against PSV.

I just hope there are goals.
