Arsenal had a great show today, with goals from Flamini, Toure and Gallas. The Gunners now sit in third place, ten points off of the pace but witha game in hand.

Liverpool dropped to ninth, some eighteen points adrift. More later.

  Can you explain why Arsenal have played one game less than the other teams? I’m still new to watching EPL and would like some insight. Thanks!

  Gaby: It’s a pretty common occurrence for a few teams to be a match behind for certain stretches of the season. This is often caused by cup compeititons both at home and in Europe.

  Currently, Wigan are also at 11 matches played.

  It was because of the UEFA champions league qualifiers against Zagreb, that a game was re-scheduled, thus they have a game in hand.
