Heard of Any Good Games This Weekend?
By: Trent | November 2nd, 2007
Ha ha, just kidding. I’m talking of course about Yeovil Town’s trip to Crewe Alexandra. Should be an absolute cracker.
Additionally, Manchester United will be invading the Emirates Stadium this Saturday, and although it’s waaaay too early for title talk, a winner will definitely have a leg up on the vanquished. Not to mention a spot all alone at the stop of the table.
And although the Young Gunners are in fact quite young, boss Arsene Wenger thinks they already have what it takes to challenge for the league title:
“The difference from last season is that the players are growing. You must remember they are still very, very young and they just needed to grow. Their confidence is much better and their belief is stronger because they have made such a good start. Last year we had a bad start. We moved into a new stadium and we were seven points behind after three games. That was too big a gap to make up.”
It’s no stretch to say that Arsenal and ManYoo have been playing the best football in the country this year. United stumbled a bit out of the gate, but have definitely gotten it together since. And the burgeoning strike force of Rooney and Tevez isn’t just a couple of pretty faces - they’ve been downright scary as of late. Throw in Cristiano Ronaldo, and you’ve got an incredibly potent attack.
Arsenal will have the home field advantage, of course, but United have an experience advantage, having of course won the title last season.
At this point, I’m seeing another draw for Arsenal. Which wouldn’t be a terrible result, but you’ve got to make up points on United somehow, and this weekend would be a brilliant time to do it.
But…what’s the fun in calling the match of the year (so far!) a draw? Let’s say…Arsenal 3-2 ManYoo.
What are you predictions?

I think a draw is realistic, tho either team is capable of winning it. The thing that troubles me is the ManU have genuine in form STRIKERS — we don’t. Our only real, effective striker is out injured. Ade is crap in front of goal, Edu still has to adapt to the PL, Bendtner and Walcott are works in progress. Also, tho our defense is good, theirs is better. Our strength is in the midfield and I just hope everyone can cope with Rooney and Tevez.
Also, the Telegraph today is saying that Arsenal are behind a drive to boycott UEFA in opposition to Platini’s proposals to reform the CL. Arsenal always get bad press before a game v. Manu.
