    Take a look at the highest paid manager in the prem;

    - January transfer window closes, defenders injured, no buying players.....NOT WENGERS FAULT
    - Sell 3 first team players, no replacements.....NOT WENGERS FAULT
    - There is nothing anyone could do with the players he had.....NOT WENGERS FAULT
    - The players mentality is very low......NOT WENGERS FAULT
    - We had 8 players out injures, 3 on red cards......NOT WENGERS FAULT
    - Players were tired after Udinese........NOT WENGERS FAULT
    - The pitch was horrible, cost us the match.....NOT WENGERS FAULT
    - The ref......NOT WENGERS FAULT

"TRUE Arsenal fans" please be reasonable!!!

after real where trashed 5-0 by barca there were swift changes in both reals mentality and playing set up and soon real were able to win the supercopa and even match barcas gameplay in the supercup(which they narrowly lost)
i wont ask for wengers head after this defeat as it will be a knee jerk reaction but this was a huge wake up call which not even the hardest wenger enthusiasts could ignore like mou wenger has 2 bring swift changes or its looking bleak.

  • a concerned gunners fan

i have been a arsenal fan since i started watching english football. i have seen my share of heartbreak defeats. it pains me to say this but i actually think all arsenal fan and board alike will look at this game as the game that decided our season. it showed up all our weaknesses as a squad that arsene wenger did not want to admit. in the preseason we drew all the games except one in the second half when the starter were taken out to the likes of Boca Junior, New York Red Bull, Benfica, and a Chinese team. this  showed me that our RESERVES WERE LIMITED WHEN THE FIRST TEAM PLAYER WERE OUT.

we sold four first team experienced player this year, Nasri, Fabregas, Eboue and Clichy near to the end of the window. when all posibble replacements were no longer available.
wenger said he had four center backs when asked about metersacker we now see that djourou isnt an option against good team, kosheilny is as good as the back he is player with and Squillachi isnt an option.

in 2006 i believe arsene wenger asked for time to rebuild the squad. it was rebuilt and because of our wage policy player after player has left the club beginning with flamini and ending with nasri. so essentially after building the clubs team we allowed all the players we built the club around to walk. which is why we are now in this mess

I am seriously concerned that this is the beginning of the end for Arsenal as we know it unless changes are made to:
    1. the clubs transfer policy
    2. the club wage policy
    3. our coaching staff

the board needs to remember we have the most expensive tickets in the EPL and fans follow winners. all the years of profit that we have achieved will become nothing if we do not change the way we do business.

  • #1 and #2 on target.

Perry S. you r living in denial just like Wenger... in his post match interview he said that the players were tried from the mid week game, as if it was the first time we play mid-week, and its really lame.

I have been following arsenal even before Wenger came, 1994-95, and by far this in my opinion is the lowest point that we have reached. I know Wenger is our best manager ever, but thats all the past and the future doesn't look really good because of Wenger's stubbornness.

Oh by the way you said in some earlier post that you want to bet on Arsenal doing just fine this season... and u described "fine" as a top 4 finish, well I don't consider that fine we should be challenging for titles! that should be fine for arsenal. Anyway, I'm willing to to do that bet with you that we will do just "fine"...

    And
"a concerned gunners fan" I agree with every point you made thanks for that comment!

  • Rico

    Djourou to blame for
the sending off, he left the poor boy in the shit and he done what he could,
not his fault. Such a bad performance, Wenger looks
knackered. I feel sorry for Szcz the poor guy had everything to do and with no
    support from the defence.

Something has to change. Shocking result and shocking performance.
Can’t be putting in a team that weak against a Man Utd team of that quality.

Wish the board at Arsenal would wake up.

  • FredJacob

no i think he should be blamed there instead of Running for the ball he should of ran behind Hernandez and try to defend since the ball was running away from the goal

  • Stapho

    Wow

  • Smartrip

Hmm, wow.  So, uh, what exactly happened today?  I didn't think we really had a chance going in but 8 is a bit much.  I don't really see what else has to happen for large changes to be made.

  • Bertrand

    Bit of a disgrace really.

Still, watch the knee jerk reactions, especially from 'fans' like Homey.

  • ASDF

Yeah sure sir you are the bigger fan and people like Homey who want to see Arsenal win (I hope you also want to see that) are fools. Anyone who has an iota of common sense would say that Wenger's policy is not right. But no - all who say that Wenger has lost the plot are stupid pretend "supporters". I bow to you sir, you are the biggest fan that Arsenal has ever had!!!

  • Blame Wenger if it makes you feel better. Those of us who've seen the highs and lows of Arsenal Football Club for over 30 years know better than to utterly disrespect the man who has given us everything he possibly could, put us on a global scale, and continues to do his best with the cards he's been dealt. He bleeds red and white, and I for one will never stop supporting him. When Arsene decides his will is gone, we supporters will praise him for doing all that he could.

  • Pretty sure Homey didn't utterly disrespect Wenger. In fact, he's been pretty respectful, thankful, appreciate, etc. Just thinks he hasn't been doing well lately. I disagree with him, but he's pretty rational and reasoned in his approach.

  • ASDF

When you know that your best 2 players have lost the heart to play for your team and you have 2 of the finest teams to play in the first three games and your best remaining midfielder will miss those games, YET you wait and wait and dont sign any quality replacements....please do explain this policy. This is the worst defeat in the last 114 years, Arsenal's past legends are criticizing Wenger's policy (maybe even past Arsenal players are stupid - check what Paul Merson said on sky sports today...that stupid git), we missed out on signing Mata, are waiting till the end of transfer window to sign a defender (look what happens when TV5, Sagna and Gibbs are out)....please oh please explain this to me.

  • ASDF

Piers Morgan was on post game show on Fox Soccer and was highly critical of Wenger. He wants Wenger to be replaced by Martin O'Neil!!!

  • Piers Morgan is also an idiot. Hope you don't take anything he says seriously.

  • GOONER

Perry I really want to know are you happy now with this defeat, cuz you are defending wenger to limit that its as if nothing is going wrong! and Im sure as an arsenal fan you'll say that you you r not happy with the result today, so what do you think should be done, so that the team becomes better?

  • Of course I am not happy with this defeat and I feel gutted for the boys and Wenger. This obviously will kill their confidence, but again all I can reiterate is that to put the blame on Wenger's head, to think removing him will resolve this, those are all the wrong solutions to the problem. Wenger has his faults, no doubt, but I'm willing to bet there are more things that are causing the inactivity than "Wenger just likes to buy cheap players" nonsense. Saying he needs to be removed, saying he's lost his plot, saying he's not a good manager...this is all typical nonsense from an uneducated "fan."

What needs to be done to resolve this IMHO is really just a few good buys in defense, midfield, and forward position...2 good to great defenders, 1 solid mid, and 1 good forward should right the ship. I'm guessing with the time we have left, we'll likely see at least one defender, one forward, and one mid...yes, I think it can be done in 3 days, because I think the wheels are already in motion.  Again, it seems to be forgotten how badly our health issues are ATM and the suspensions to some key players does not help. No one could have predicted having so many 1st teamers out all at once, that surely added to the misery today.

Come January, I think we'll see another 1-2 buys and come May, I still feel we'll be in the top 4.

  • Kent876

I got a few things that may make some people upset. I DONT THINK WENGER KNOWS WHAT TO DO TO FIX THE PROBLEMS WE'RE HAVING. ITS NOT ABOUT BUYING PLAYERS ANYMORE, ITS THE MENTALITY OF THE TEAM. WE LACK A WINNING MENTALITY AT THIS POINT WHICH PUTS US IN SERIOUS SHIT.

  • Andylowe14

IF gervinho song and frimpong were on the pitch we might have had a reasonable chance.. those red cards they cost us and let down the team cos of the suspensions... its not wengers fault his CDM's wanna stamp on people and get sent off... thats not wengers fault. and vermaelen and sagna injured??? its not ideal timing.. plus jack wilshere out. If all these players were on it would be almost the same team that beat man u last year, minus the playes sold. Our defence wasnt up to it today but SURELY we need to buy players.. imagine if we get even more injuries...

  • will

I agree that we lacked all the important players save RvP and Walcott (who proved themselves regardless), and that the wage caps placed by the board are a major factor of the transfer policy. But, 8-2. That is arguably a worse result than what QPR or Swansea would achieve at OT. Are you saying our substitutes would not -should not, even- cut it at Swansea? I think Wenger is brilliant, but I have no idea where he is going now..

  • ak

But then again united's first choice defense was out as well.
And blaming injuries is taking a very narrow minded view. Even our full squad today would not have prevented us from losing.
Worst of all is the fact that wenger and us have been placing our trust in youngsters and then you see ferguson come up with a few kids of his own and completely obliterating us. Their transition has been so smooth, so effortless, no dropping of points due to mistakes of young players so that they can gain experience.
Also, not gonna blame Wenger for his transfers(many are gonna do that anyway), but his tactics in this match were way off.

  • Thank you for posting a sensible, and logical comment. I'd say about 80% of the "fans" will conveniently forget the injuries/suspensions/health of KEY players. Essentially half of our squad would never, ever start in a match of this caliber. And I think no matter what side of the big Arsenal debate you're on, players definitely need to bought. Just hope someone allows Wenger to spend pretty freely here over the next few days.

  • TK

How is that a jail free card though man? The most disgraceful thing for me was the way he let all those young players take a beating for a situation he knows he got the team into the first place. How can anyone defend hanging players out to dry like that?

  • I'll say this much, if we had more depth in the back, yes, I think it would have been a lot closer. I'm not going to be that biased Wenger supporter and say he's at no fault. But for those who are putting all the blame on his head are severely mistakened and need to question their judgement a bit. No one could have ever imagined the amount of 1st team players we would have missing for a vital game like this. If Sagna and Verm were in, do you think the scoreline would have read as much? Sure, we may have lost, but I'm guessing it wouldn't be anywhere near this.

  • Irate Gooner

OMG ARSENAL -we off course couldn't be an FA Manager - but if someone is paid 4m to do it surely its right to expect better don't you think? What positives do you takes from today? Do u not agree that our team needs reinforcements and why has it been left to 3 days to go before the transfer window closes! Surely Arsene knows still runs true - but after such an humiliation its only natural for all us armchairs managers to make our feelings known and we always get humiliated at OT!

  • Alexinho

Well boys...at least the SUPPORTERS won the match

  • OMGArsenal

All you clowns saying you'll give Wenger until this or that date..........why do you confuse yourselves with someone he cares about or listens to.....he takes his own counsel and rightly so as you lot together couldn't make a decent FA Football manager!

  • Irate Gooner

I hope the board take note! Please take Wenger to spec savers - cos he clearly can't see that his team is not even good enought for top six. We've sold the crown jewels of the years and replaced them with substandard stuf from Argos! Wenger keeps negotiating as if its his money - no its not it come from hard working fans who deserve better. He has needed defensive back up for the last many seasons and im shocked he still has found one. If he doesnt spend in the next three days we wont be attract any one nexty year cos we'll be out of CL for sure. Finally why does he keep recruitng player who can't even play for the club - how many frigging players have to be loaned out every year cos of permit issues! And our discipline sucks - 4 red cards in 3 PL games - shocking.

  • RvP

HOW FUCKING DARES HE!?!?! That arrogant wanker!! Where the HELL are we going from here....6-1 and counting.....

  • Jimicj

Wenger has truly lost the plot

  • Jay

blame the board, lack of investment.things wont get better soon

  • Andylowe14

or you could go back to supporting arsenal in the 90s before we were a big club and had a big stadium and international fan base.. take the good and not the bad u fair weather fan

  • You and I are exactly on the same page.

  • Johnkt

I think Wenger need to go off. Bad goalkeeper & defend.

  • thechaikid

our goalkeeper was amazing. our defense wasn't even there to support him.

in fact scezney is why we haven't experienced worse (believe it or not) today and the past games

  • Georgedb1

Our goal keeper was the only star of the team this game - but a goalkeeper needs to be suported by a defense. I dont care what goalkeeper you have, if you dont have a defense you will always take bad losses

  • Andylowe14

nothing wrong with the goalkeeper, unless you dont know anything about football and you just say that we conceded loads and blamed the goalie. were you even watching the game, none of the goals were the goalies fault
