Liveblog! Arsenal v. Boca in Emirates Cup action

By: Brenton | July 30th, 2011

And here, folks, is our first* liveblog. The Inaugural LiveBlog, we’ll call it.

Arsenal face Boca Juniors, an Argentine team of some repute. They’ve won more international titles (18!) than your dad, and are second in Argentine Primera Division titles with 23 (and more than Liverpool or ManU, I might add). Check out our preview: Emirates Cup kick-off versus Boca

We go live at 3pm UK time, 7am Pacific, 10am Eastern. Liveblog to your hearts’ content, lads:

We’ll have a match report up soon enough. Thanks for your comments.

* First, that is, of the new, post-Martin era.

Dear Mr. Wenger, (even though you are close not to be dear to em anymore)

I am a stupid fan of the Arsenal, and up to date, of yours.. However, I have been amazaed by your stubborness that becomes near stupidity, of not willing to act as a manager of a big team when it comes to negotiations.

I refer, sir, to the fact that you broguth us a defender that scored a goal, only an own goal, and brought back some defenderes (i.e. Traore) that do not convince anyone defending.

You have publicly said that you are willing to buy, and I still believe you. I just hope that you are aware that, every MINUTE passing, your targeted defenders become more expensive, especially for you, since other coaches may also have TV and may also watch, as I did, our beloved team go down, again, and waste, again, a 2 goal lead.

I sincerely hope that you have the evidence in your hands, that the team needs defnders, experienced defenders, because our midfield and attack looked decent, Cesc is not even an issue if he wants to leave, but other will follow if they do not see quality defenders added to their team, so that their goals are avlued as such: a winning tool in competitions.

    yours truly,

    Gigi,

Well I am watching the game on ESPN, guess they broadcast it becuase of Boca.
My partner and I sat down and guess what he said (he is a Milan AC fan), "hey whats going on with that defence? Every time a set piece of danger"
    Nice goal by RvP.
Nice moves up front, and although Boca are a good team, I still see the same flaws in defence, hope Aw sees them too, or else he will be facing rough times.

For those of you in the U.S., the game is being shown on ESPN Deportes, if you get it (I apparently do via FIOS).  Red Bulls are beating PSG 1-0 i the 84th minute as I type, and the Arsenal game is on afterwards.
