A Cescy goal
By: travis | June 10th, 2008
Arsenal involvement in Euro 2008 continued yesterday with Fabregas coming on as a sub against Russia. He grabbed his first international goal in Spain’s 4-1 romp. He didn’t start, as Coach Luis Aragones decided to go with Xavi and Iniesta in the central midfield. It would have been hard to justify playing Cesc as well, who has a playing style quite similar to those two. He came on in the 52nd minute, replacing Liverpool forward Fernando Torres.
On top of grabbing a goal in stoppage time (the ref might have flagged him for offsides), he set up David Villa’s third goal of the night. Not a bad evening for the young player.
Tonight/today’s matches features Switzerland against Turkey. Anything short of a win and they’ll be done. Good luck to Senderos and possibly Djourou.
In other Arsenal news, according to Sky Sport Italia, AC Milan is likely to secure a transfer of Adebayor. Unfortunately for Milan, they have to have actually spoke with Arsenal, and not just Ade’s agent. Complete bollocks.
