A Close Call
By: travis | March 12th, 2009Take a look at the shootout or longer highlights here, in case you missed either one. Nervy times yesterday. A much longer reaction will be up later. For now, enjoy coming away with a win in a game which Arsenal deserved to lose — and technically did.

Did not see the game; actually in Panama, since a while now, they don’t even broadcats an Arsenal game (tough times, sad times…), but I was following it through the other games (comments in middle etc), and ….definitely I was nervous, one goal they needed, and it never came. My nerves lasted too long until that last penalty…so I will enjoy from here to the next UCL game..where another nervous breakdown will come…

We played very poorly and did lose the game (deservedly) — but we should be proud of these kids with their low confidence level stepping up to coolly take those penalties in a very hostile atmosphere at such a crucial moment. Theo and Denilson hadn’t even taken penalties in their pro careers before.
And how many teams take 7 successive penalties without a miss in such a high pressure moment?

Jorge go to zaptiger.com and there are many streams available to watch the matches on your computer.
Follow the instructions and download the required software and you’ll be able to watch any match you like.
As for the match the usual suspects who just about every week make us suffer, again didn’t deliver. hint starts with E-o-E!
What a turn around in momentum once Theo came in the match and the question is why the guru would wait till 15
minutes to the end for the much needed and obvious change.
Roma fans get real and blame the inability of finishing the match with numerous opportunities wasted by Baptista Totti, and Vucinic. Almunia made a lot of big saves and we finally had our first shot on target in the first over time period, that tells me other teams know exactly how to shutttttt the barn door to our talented by uncreative company. Cross your fingers not to meet Barca in the next round as it could get real ugly.Posted from

I don’t know what the hell wegner see in this guy Eboue. He is the worst. He seems to play alot better against lesser teams like Burnsley for example. Abou Diaby has really improved hopefully he can stay consistent. SELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL EBOUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

I liked the courange in young Gunners during the penality taking if this maintened arsenal will get the best results in the remaining barclays marches. Eboue can be consistent if given time and played in one position not changed every other time.
