Arsenal v Chelsea Game Thread
By: travis | May 10th, 2009Not a whole lot to play for today, aside from third place. Kind of depressing to think about in that fashion, but reality can be a harsh mistress. Nevertheless, there’s no reason why Arsenal won’t bring their A game today. The big news of the day is that Arshavin misses out on the 18, as he is dealing with the flu. As for the rest of the squad, a chance to solidify things for next year. A look at the two lineups:
Arsenal: Fabianski, Sagna, Toure, Silvestre, Gibbs, Walcott, Nasri, Song Billong, Diaby, Fabregas, Van Persie.
Subs: Mannone, Denilson, Ramsey, Djourou, Adebayor, Bendtner, Eboue.
Chelsea: Cech, Bosingwa, Alex, Terry, Ashley Cole, Essien, Mikel, Lampard, Anelka, Drogba, Malouda.
Subs: Hilario, Ivanovic, Di Santo, Ballack, Kalou, Belletti, Mancienne.
Full strength for Chelsea, there can be little doubt of that. They’ll be out to avenge their perceived mid-week injustice. Kickoff in ten minutes. As usual, leave your thoughts during and after the game below. Come on Arsenal

watching this game you wouldnt guess there wasnt anything at stake. so far (35min) it’s been a damn competitive game…few things i noticed:
nasri will be better than fabregas…or at least thinks he will be. gotta say i like that buy every bit as much as the arshavin one.
diaby is a ballwasting bastard.
fabianski is TERRIBLE.

A terrible, terrible game from an Arsenal perspective.

In the other thread I was wishing for a few of the 2nd-level guys to get a look at the end of the season. Well I guess I should be careful what I wish for. But still, I’ll stick with my point. I just hope some of these late-season losses will lead to some buying in the summer.
And I know this is a thought for another thread, but I can’t help but think it will be a LOT harder to finish in the top 4 next year for someone, since I’m sure Man City will be bringing in a load of talent this summer. I don’t want Arsenal to be the one from the “Big 4″ to lose its place.Posted from
