Arsene Wenger Content Kissing His Sister
By: Trent | March 16th, 2007
The English Football League is considering going to penalty shootouts at the end of drawn matches. The preliminary thought would be that if a match ends in a draw, each team gets one point as they would currently. Then, the team that wins a standard shootout would then gain another point for a total of two.
Arsene Wenger is not amused.
I don’t like the idea either. One of the great things about the Premiership is that each team plays each other team twice, home and away. It’s a long season and there is no need to have a ‘winner’ after each contest. If a nontournament match is a draw, then on that day the teams were equal. To artificially choose a ‘winner’ is in this situation is not necessary.
But in the interest of full dislosure, I do not know Arsene Wenger’s sister, and so do not know what kissing her might be like.
