Tom, I’m in agreement with you. Arseblog pointed out that it’d be hard to see him brought in for more than Nasri – who was bought for £13m. I don’t think Wenger would splash more than that.

Arshavin is definitely it. creativeness and exceptional brilliance is what arsenal needs now. Arshavin to me is gonna be a breath of fresh air, WHY? we have lost or drawn some games which we should have won. Arshavin can win those games with those flashes of creativity. Euro 2008 is a good example; russia wasnt all that, but they got to the semis because of Arshavin. End of discussion.

I think Arshavin be a great addition to the squad, his creativity is unquestionable. It’s hard to see Wenger paying the fee that Zenit is talking about though…

Does the video remind anyone of a young ljungburg? Arashavin is 27, supposedly in his prime, about the same age when ljungburg was playing with viera? Bottomline is we need Arshavin, although I dont know how much he is really worth. God knows we need to stop playing diaby in those AMC and winger roles. Personally I think Bendtner is crap as a replacement for Adeybayor, he has nowhere near the off the ball and pace that is required for him to play Ade’s role. He has some moderate success on counter attacks when the defense is off its guard, otherwise he is usually lost. The daily mirror also reported that Barcelona is after RVP and cesc for 50 mil…. thats depressing. Usually what barcelona wants barcelona eventually gets.

I completely agree, it does seem that we need a DM and a CB. However, that doesn’t negate the fact that Arshavin would certainly add something to the attacking side of our game. He has a very unique style and is brilliantly creative. This means (a) we might “steal” a result (due to a moment of brilliance) in a few more of those matches where we’ve currently been losing or drawing, and (b) he may be more likely to “spark” the likes of Adebayor, Bendtner, and RVP into action with his creativity. Regradless of the DM/CB need – he’d be a massive boost.

i am skeptical of wengers judgement, one single transfer will not do us any good. wenger has in my opinion destroyed Arsenal. from the days of sol, viera, to now when we have teenagers competing for honors with experienced players. no hope of silverware with wengers policy of youth nurturing.

Arshavin has loads of creativity, and plays with width, two things we need. Heaven forbid van persie gets injured, Arshavin will fit well behind Adebayor. Wenger has had much more success with make shit defense than offense (flamini?). Furthermore, for me a solid and experienced back line is more important than a talented one. Buying a good defender will require more money than wenger has and will unsettle Toure even further. What do you guys think?
