Better Than Pele? Better than Maradona?

Arsenal Offside understands the crushing pressure of mountainous expectations brought about by a long and auspicious record of magnificence. Everyday milions of loyal readers turn their lonely eyes to this very site, searching for sustenance in a harsh and unforgiving world.

Most of them got here by Googling “arse”, but that’s beside the point.

At any rate, Arsene Wenger has said that Thierry Henry is already as good as Pele and Maradona. Henry, who is evidently homesick for Highbury, has not shown the consistent form this year for the Gunners. Whether A-Dub’s incredible praise will help Henry shake out of his funk is unknown.

What I do feel confident about is that Henry will be one of the sport’s all-time great strikers. But as god as the Black Pearl or Diego? A bit much, Arsene.

  Whoa Trent! Um, for a second I thought I had accidentally gone into one of the other team pages…I think Henry is incredible, we just don’t have all the titles.

  lee, I agree that Henry is incredible. One of the best ever. It just seems at least a little early for him to be put into that category.
