Bolton Preview/Thread

By: travis | September 20th, 2008

Good morning folks. Another important fixture on the road at the Reebok against Bolton. Not going to be easy, this one, as the squad is probably a bit tired from its trek down and back to Kiev. That’ll be no excuse, says the boss in part of the match preview. Bolton has given us difficulties in the past, especially at the Reebok.

They’ll have to do it without a trio of Frenchmen. Fortunately, those three are Mikael Silvestre, Samir Nasri, and Abou Diaby, not Gallas, Clichy, and Sagna. I’d be a bit more concern about missing 3/4 of the starting back line. The aforementioned trio should bolster the squad’s depth if and when they are healthy again. Knowing Diaby, it’ll be a matter of time before he is healthy and then injured all in the same spell.

It’s a real chance today as Man United and Chelsea face off against each other tomorrow, meaning one or the other may come away from the weekend with no points. As last season proves, dropped points will definitely come back to bite you in the arse, and today is no exception.

I expect nothing less than a return to league form from the side that saw off Blackburn last weekend 4-0. A replication of that feat, and not the accomplishment at Craven Cottage, is much preferred. Here’s to three points, and join in on the fun, Lleave all game thoughts here.

Underway at the Reebok. Eboue and Denilson on the wings, interestingly enough. Theo deserves a rest.
