…is what I’m hearing today. Word is, the Gunners may ship Freddie Ljungberg to Juventus for the World Cup hero and Italy no. 1 Gianluigi Buffon.
Not sure why Juve would go for that as a straight-up swap, but it would needless to say be fantastic for Arsenal.

Buffoon over Lehmann? What are these people smoking?
(Oh. Sorry. But I HATE Buffon.)

I rather keep Lehman.

Buffon is about nine years younger than Lehmann, which should be enough incentive. Also, I think he was Italy’s MVP in the World Cup. He didn’t give up a single goal to the opposition during the run of play. Not one.

Rumor I heard is that Juventus still owe for Patrick Vieira, so Buffon might be payment, if Lehmann is actually serious about retiring in Germany. He said he was, but when has that ever meant anything?

Even I’ll concede he’s a good keeper. But he’s also an egotistical ass. And he looks like an Italian weasel.

The reason this talk is happening now is that Lehmann has been sucking! If you like old keepers have a look at van der Saar because he does it right. How can a guy Lehmann’s size be that messy in the air? And then be a loudmouth pain in the arse on top of it?

i’ll concede he is a good keeper, but Italy’s not being scored on during the run of play at the world cup has more to do with their back four, rather than Buffon.
