Frenzy Friday – LiveBlog!

By: Perry | August 31st, 2012

Fellow Gooners,

The conclusion to the frenzy has arrived with less than 8 and one half hours to go, we’ll know exactly who is and isn’t an Arsenal player. I’m still holding out hope for that one big signing, I mean c’mon, I wouldn’t be an Arsenal fan if I didn’t! I’m not sure how well Blyve liveblog will be compared to CoverItLive, but at least this will give us some sort of liveblogging forum.

- The latest news is that we’ve successfully loaned out Park Chu-Young to newly promoted La Liga side, Celta Viga. It appears Arsenal will be paying a large portion of his 2.5 million dollar wage, but at least this gives us a glimpse of how PCY will fare when getting regular playing time. Sounds like a win-win for us (one less on the roster) and valuable experience for our player.

- Arsenal was lucky to have had the greatest striker on the planet, but unfortunately his days with Arsenal are over. Juventus has completed the loan deal of Nicklas Bendtner and will reportedly pay 1.5 million to Arsenal for his services this season, and will have the option to pay Arsenal 6 million after this season to keep him permanently. Bendtner, had you kept some form of humility, you might have clicked with the squad, but good luck to you on becoming Italy’s greatest striker to have ever played. So thats 2 departing from Deadwood Estates, who’s next?

I’ll be updating this space as more Arsenal related news comes forward…

Look forward to reading your thoughts throughout the day. I can’t promise I’ll be here all day long, but I hope that you all will keep this thing buzzing with news! I have the blog set to run it’s course throughout the day, and will shut it down around 6:30 EST.

Hey team of writers, lets forget the last day of the window and do a post on our CL opponents?

  • Gigi, we'll get the match preview up tonight (via Lachlan), and liveblog tomorrow morning! We'll get a post regarding the UCL draw somewhere in the next day or two also. But at a highlevel, we were fortunate this year, as was Man U (seems they always are), so we can place some high hopes for Arsenal coming out of the group. My concern always is that we come out unscathed!

    thx thx thx!

Funny how more people are now seeing the Song sale as pure economics and not "getting rid of a bad apple". Once again Arsenal profits in the transfer market! Well done gays! Without doing any research whatsoever, I believe we came out about 10MM ahead. Could have bought Dempsey and had some leftovers....

Actually we barely made a profit, in terms of net transfers but we sure as hell saved a ton on wages. Also I don't believe that Song was a "bad apple". If the club had shown a little more passion when barca came knocking we still would have him in our ranks.
