Friday Rewind
By: travis | December 5th, 2008Apologies for not getting anything up sooner, but my hard drive decided to crash out on me the other day. It does not make for a fun situation when you have an external and yet was too lazy to bother backing up some of my stuff. So here I am, cursing the fact that I didn’t back up a year’s worth of pictures from living abroad. Oh well. Enough about me, what about the Arsenal?
+The kids lost in the Carling Cup. As far as I’m concerned, it’s good riddance. A win would have been nice, but losing in the quarterfinals isn’t too much of a reason to hang your head in shame. To be honest, I don’t have much of an opinion on it since I didn’t watch it. The focus must be on the first team and the weekend against Wigan.
+More rumors have begun to spring up about Cesc leaving in January/next summer. The ridiculous thing about it was he came out and said he admired AC Milan. All of a sudden, he was going to transfer there. What I love about Cesc is he is quick to put them to bed – there is no Adebayoring around by the young Catalan to make a play for a raise. Another reason making him captain was a good move by Wenger.
+Cristiano Ronaldo said he nearly signed for Arsenal. I don’t really care, thank you very much. No sense in playing what-ifs, plus Man United came in with an offer three times great. Oh well.
+There is chatter that William Gallas will exit Arsenal because he has been humiliated. Wenger seems to think he’ll stay. I can’t see him leaving because this team needs to strengthen itself, not let players go.
+Eduardo is getting even closer to a return from his horrific injury. Depending on how well he plays, it’s like a free transfer. He’ll be a much-welcome boost to our attack depth.
That’s all for now. Tomorrow’ match against Wigan is huge. Any dropped points and the win over Chelsea will seem all for naught.
