Gametime chatter

By: travis | February 24th, 2009

35 minutes until kickoff. Lineups are posted via the BBC:

Arsenal team: Almunia, Sagna, Clichy, Toure, Gallas, Nasry, Denilson, Eboue, Diaby, Bendtner, Van Persie.

That should hardly send a shudder through the spine of the Roma supporters. Song deserves his seat on the bench. We all know that Diaby is capable, but on most days he looks like a lazy and arrogant player.

I’ll be here, so if anyone else has some thoughts, post them below.

Roma: Doni, Motta, Mexes, Loria, Riise, Perrotta, De Rossi, Brighi, Taddei, Julio Baptista, Totti.

Totti makes it into the squad. Welcome back to Julio Baptista

I suppose we now know how united put so much goals past them. Their defence’s incompetence is probably only matched by eboue’s and bendtners finishing. This should have been an annihilation. Roma will have to attack at rome which will give us more space to exploit especially since we will have ade/eduardo maybe walcott, and diaby will be more fitter.

Defence: 7 Dealt with everything comfortably
Midfield: 9 – How many interceptions did they make? Great performance
Attack (i.e. Van persie) – 8 good performance, who’s betting he could reach 30 by the end of the season?

    Next leg prediction: 1:1

Well I didn’t get to watch since I don’t have Setanta. Ugh. But I can’t wait until the time when they don’t start Bendtner or Eboue. I’d like to get Denilson and Song out of the central midfield mix as well, but that’s still dreaming at this point. Eduardo, even after his long absence, still sounds like a big upgrade over every striker except RVP.
