Heading towards the weekend
By: travis | March 20th, 2008News from around is a bit slow at the moment, but there are a few odds and ends worth reporting. Abby reported about Theo potential getting an England recall, and he took his first step towards appearing against France as he was selected as one of the 30 players in a provisional pool. That’s quite the alliteration, is it not? Theo also just turned 19 years old last Sunday. Happy birthday Theo. Now go score a goal or two against Chelsea this Sunday to celebrate.
Surprisingly enough, Inter Milan deny allegations that they met with Alexander Hleb. What a surprise there! They denied what would be an illegal approach for a player. I’m shocked that a club such as that one isn’t run with a strong sense of honor, and that they wouldn’t release an official statement announcing how guilty they are. Please, tell us something we don’t expect.
The club is waiting to see if Mathieu Flamini will sign the new deal that they’ve offered him. Please, please, please, please sign it Mathieu. If there is one player who deserves a new deal, it’s been him this season. He’s shown the kind of grit and toughness in just about every single game that he’s appeared in. Losing him would be drastic.
Defender Johan Djourou says that the future is bright for Arsenal. Gee, thanks Johan, love the optimism, but could we please focus on winning the title this season? To be fair to him, he’s just returned from injury and appeared in the reserves 2-0 win over Portsmouth, so he knows things about the young ones that we don’t.
