He’s Gonna Blow! Run For Your Lives!
By: Trent | September 4th, 2007
No, this isn’t a Sen. Larry Craig post. Instead, I mean that Arsene Wenger says new Crozilian striker Eduardo is set to “suddenly explode”!
So far, Dudu has started two matches, appeared in two others, and last week scored his first Gunner goal against Sparta Prague in the Champions League. Wenger, on the advice of Dudu’s former coach Slavan Bilic, thinks that one goal will snowball into several more as the season progresses.
What do you think? Will Dudu release his inner goal-scoring lion this season? Who will the club’s top scorers be, all competitions included?

Well he’d better explode! It’s great that our midfield is finally scoring but our strikers are crap right now. For heaven’s sake, Arsene, put in Bendtner and Eduardo on the pitch for a change!

Adebayor sucks bigtime..
misses too many chances and has been given too many chances..
if wenger has spent around 8 mil pounds on dudu..
better give him chances enough to prove his worth..For me RVP and Dudu should start each game and Bendtnar should be the substitue striker replacing one of the two starters, who’ve had a bad game…
Adebayor can play d FA cup and champions league silly games..

I really hope Eduardo is given a fair go by Wenger, every time he’s been on it seems we are always threatening to score a goal, such is his game intelligence and movement. Ok, technically speaking he might not be the best (but is still more than serviceable) but his positioning is exceptional even in the cameo appearances he’s been in.
I quite like Adebayor because he’s hardworking, a general nuisance to the opponent and always makes chances, but he’s still quite raw and really has a long way to becoming a good player. Another thing that really irks about him is that he really isn’t a poacher and has woeful game sense, the best examples of this are when he drifts to the left wing but is totally ineffective, and more importantly, whenever a cross comes in which he could put away, he shies from outstretching his long legs. Conversely, in the few times I’ve seen Eduardo, the guy lives for goals, and would be willing to stretch that little bit if it meant a goal.
Ultimately in a team of Cesc, Rosicky, Hleb and Van Persie, creativity is not going to be in short supply at all, hence Eduardo should definitely be given ahead of Ade. You can create as many chances as you like, but for a big club like Arsenal, it’s the score at the end which matters.
