Fucking hell, It's only the first leg, reading some of the posts here you would have thought that the World had come to and end for crying out loud get a grip some of you... The fact is in the 'real World' we are effectively 1-0 down at half time, and need to play a lot better in the second half (or in this case the second leg) to win...

Is it just me because I haent seen the games or is a general feeling:

dont you think we are kind of sloppy in attack? I mean, starting the season it was that defence wasnt settled, same as last season. But looking back we scored more so we could be in the races. Now, we defend better, but our attack is nowhere.

Have they really learned how to contain us? if so, frankly, we will need a lot of "garra" to win, and I dont see it in these guys.

Our defense was shocking today

And Arsenal style has become very predictable. There are a lot on one-two passes it's like almost automatic and many of them are being intercepted or useless.

And so is Barcelona's style. The issue is not about how predictable we are but about how good we are. Tonight we were not good, point. I don't think our style is a promble.

The players are the problem

Yep, we are saying approximatively the same, we were not good enough. Except I do believe they have qualities.

As soon as I saw Arshavin and Bendtner in the line-up I knew we could expect a poor resulr and performance. And am I the only to think that Wilshere is extremely overrated?

Why do people judge after a single (Admittedly woeful) performance?

Sometimes players perform below par, it doesn't mean they are bad players.

Give the kid (and yes Wilshere IS a kid) a break.

I've been watching many recent Arsenal games and everytime I've seen Wilshere play he was disapointing. Unaccurate easy passes, minimal offensive threat (almost inexistant to be fair), below average defensive skills and so on ... I can understand players can have a spell of bad form but when was the last time he actually played well? Instead of talking about how he's improved and that the team is title contender he should probably work harder on training.

My concern right now, except that we were nothing but crap, is that Eboué will start the first leg against Barcelona...

Sad times.

We will get smashed by Barca.

at least we will have only the league to concentrate on since since we will be knocked out of FA and would have already won the Carling Cup

We have to come up with ideas, other teams study you when you are good, and we cant be doing the same thing all over.

Well, bad thing for me is that I havent been watching games so I cant really comment on anything seriously, (good news for all of you is that you dont get bored). But really, how much can we comment on this? its a shame...I had kind of hopes with the league, Carling and UCL even....now??

Absolutely withdrawn performance. Nothing happening at all, either teams have really figured out how we play or we're just not capable of 'it' right now. I can't think of a good word to describe the game tonight, there really was virtually no positives to take away, maybe that Connor Wickham looks to be a pretty decent young player...? Honestly though, if we put in a performance like that against West Ham we're surely going to be up the creek in terms of the championship.

Well good. I was worried people might think I had watched a different game, one in which we actually wanted to win.

Our second string's inability to do anything but suck hard is really starting to piss me off. These players last year would have destroyed Ipswich, but all of the sudden, if you're not Theo Van Nasregas, Song, or Sagna you are a complete failure as a footballer. If I had seen these line-ups as a neutral I would have bet $1,000,000 on Arsenal to win. All but two of our starters have been established players on their national teams (u21 included). This is shameful.

Theo is a big waste in my book seems like he isn't learning anything can't even dribble a ball i really hate high hopes for him, i only watch the second half and the best player was Gibbs and Djourou

Fabregas is just as much to blame for this loss as any of the other folks we're mentioning here. He should be held to a higher level and on that note, he is IMO the WMOTM (W = Woeful). I'll chalk this up to just a despicable performance and feel that at home, it likely will be a very different story. 9/10 we'd really dominate this match, something was simply off for the team today. I mean 9/10 Fabregas would have easily scored on that cross to him, no?

Well the good news is that this loss will teach us not to be complacent about lower-level teams that we're supposed to beat. And we'll come out with more determination next time we take on a big underdog team. :-|

This is really culminating a pretty poor run of form since Chelsea.

I disagree, we played about as well as team could play against Birmingham and Man City. and holy shit, they just scored. this game, as well as the Leeds game has been awful.

We are not playing very well. The offense is not creating chances, and the few we've had, we flub away.

I'm with Perry on this one. The announce on the stream I'm watching said that we're down on shots 11 to 4, and only one of our 4 has been on target. Djorou has been good for us so far, saving us about ten minutes ago when Wickham blew past Eboue, and coming back to cover on the ball over the top to Priskin that beat Kos. Other than Johan, though, I don't see many highlights on our side.

For those not watching, Song has come on for Wilshere and Chamakh for Bendtner, in the 68th minute.

Hopefully this isn't a game where Cesc will need to play the full 90, so without Rosicky on the bench (or Nasri for that matter) who would play that role?

Agreed, he was filling that position when Fabregas was out last season.

Also, that is NOT Ipswich's first XI, so there are no excuses for this one. We really ought to go out there and smash them.

And I will be very disappointed if Wenger brings on Ramsey in this one. He has earned the right to make his return to the squad at home and get the rousing ovation from the home fans.

I don't think he was being left out because he was lower on the pecking order. Wenger was just being careful bringing him back from injury. We've had some bad luck with rushing players back in the past. Hopefully he's feeling fit enough to start more now.

I just wanted to point out how on fire I've been predicting the lineups lately. I thought it would be Clichy instead of Gibbs, and I thought Djourou would be rested, but I nailed the 6 attacking players. I hope you all realize how lucky you are to have me around.

Read the discussion I was having with some people on Twitter earlier -- seemingly everyone thought Rosicky and Chamakh were going to start (a lot of people saying there was "no chance" of Cesc starting), a bunch of people thought Eastmond would start. People picking Nasri, van Persie, even Vela as well.
