Is That Alllllllll There Is?
By: Trent | March 7th, 2007Well. Not a whole lot left to play for. Unless you count finishing in the top four in the EPL, so that Arsenal can try again next season.
That’s because Arsenal drew 1-1 at home with PSV Eindhoven today in the Champions League, ending the Gunners’ dream of returning to the final. That’s three cup ousts in the last couple of weeks. Oof.
Today’s match was more of the same. Dominance by Arsenal, a lack of opportunism and finishing, a good play or two from the opponent, and Arsenal fall.
But of course that’s not to say that making next year’s CL isn’t of great importance. It is. It’s just hard to root for a team to finish in fourth. Not much of a ring to it.

That was tragic. I was bouncing back and forth between this one and Madric-Munich, but from what I saw Arsenal so deserved this one.
The good news is that with so many incredible young players (seriously, I want to adopt half the team, starting with the adorable Denilson) it’s only going to get better from here.

Another late goal does us in. In the bow-outs in the Carling Cup, FA Cup and now the CL the winning goal has been scored in the 80-somethingth (not a word, I know) minute. That hurts.
All that’s left this season is to support a push for 3rd in the EPL, at least we can move ahead of Liverpool in the table.

Too bad mate – know how you feel. At least Toure didn’t start a fight though!

I am so sad they did not make it. I don’t understand why the boss didn’ttake out Hleb though. Now Titi is injured again…
