It’s a Fight–A Real Fight!!
By: Trent | November 6th, 2006
Well, Arsenal went down to West Ham without much of a fight on Sunday. The 0-1 loss at Upton Park did not feature fine play from the Gunners, much less any good finishing. But at least there was some middle-age fisticuffs!
Arsenal man Robin van Persie was hit with a coin courtesy of the West Ham fans, but not to be outdone, boss Arsene Wenger got into it with Hammers gaffer Alan Pardew after West Ham’s late gamewinner. The League Manager’s Association, not to mention the FA , are looking into the incident.
The Arseblog is somewhat sympathetic to A-Dub, while David Hirshey says that if you’re going to fly off of the handle, a good ol’ French headbutt might have been more appropriate.
Look–I don’t know what happended, but we can all do without geriatric wrestling at football matches. Now, Arsenal’s recent form may need some attention.

Oh, a headbutt. That would be SO much more fun. I’m a great fan of headbutts. But somehow I don’t think it would be the same. How old are they, anyhow?
I’m getting a mental picture of Pardew lying on his back, limbs flailing in the air like a dying cockroach, having to push his “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” button.
And I love the whole refusing-to-shake-hands business. Yeah, let’s really prove to the world (for the cameras in this YouTube age) how mature we are…
