Liveblog 3000! I’m afraid we’ll lose to United edition

By: Brenton | January 22nd, 2012

Guh. Read Martin’s preview to be cheered up. (He almost completely ignores our big loss. Glosses over, I guess you could say.)

Last season Ramsey scored a late goal to win this for us 1-0. Here’s a picture of that goal for some inspiration:

Could history repeat itself?

Could history repeat itself?

Could do.

The game kicks off at 4pm UK time, 11am Eastern, 8am Pacific, 6pm in Istanbul. As usual we’ll be here maybe half an hour before. See you then, for some friendly banter about Diaby and your mom.

It's men against boys. 1-0 at the half. It could easily be 3 or 4 nil. Arsenal have almost no chance of scoring. NOTHING dangerous. Piers Morgan is on Fox saying we need two fullbacks. Is he an idiot? We could have 4 new world-class fullbacks and it woul make ANY difference. The difference in class is mind boggling - it's not just the fullbacks, it's the entire team. The goal was TV5's fault. He didn't track Valencia soon enough. The play was obvious that Giggs would try to pick out Valencia at the back post. TV5 let him move past him on the back post and that was all Giggs and Valencia needed. It was OVER from that point on. Giggs put's in a world class cross, Valencia elevates early on the run, GOAL!!! It's OVER boys. Tell Pierce to never go on TV and talk about Arsenal. He is a MORON.

We fought so hard in the second half; we should've walked away with something. Fullbacks were responsible for both goals..

And I've had it with Arsha. Normally I'd defend him, but today, our loss was his fault. He needs to move on. And Ox should've never left the pitch.

Never a worse sub in the history of the team. OX was a beast. Arsha cost that 2nd goal. Turns his back and lets Valencia into the penalty area without any challenge. Valencia should have never gotten into the penalty area so easily. We win or tie with Ox on the pitch. TV5 was responsible for the 1st goal. Entirely. But he played really well except for that 1 sec loss in concentration. And he has been our best fullback this season. So it's hard to blame him. Kos played really well too. He closed down Wellbeck when he had that run at the goal. And Mert competed today as well. The fullbacks were not at fault today. Today it was ALL Wenger.

It's still annoying to have to listen to Piers Morgan spout shite on TV like he knows something. Blaming Wenger like he's saying something that 50,000 fans haven't already said. And I'd like to see what Piers could do with Arsene's personnel budget. The Moron that is Morgan NEVER mentions that Wenger's funds are limited by that ignorant board. Gazidis, et al. I'd like to see what Piers could do with those limited funds.

Gazidis annoys the fuck outta me, I'll give you that. But what I meant with the fullbacks is that no one was marking Valencia when he trotted into around the area except Arsha, a winger, and Vermaelen and JD were responsible for the first goal, who were playing as fullbacks. Nothing we can do, though, as Wenger is completely right; as soon as a new signing would settle, we'd have a fullback ready. An unsettled new signing is no better than JD, yet alone Yennaris. Mert was great today, though, and the goal-line clearance was lovely if ultimately meaningless.
