Hi everyone.

Welcome to a radical, busy transfer deadline day. We’ve got tons on the go (see previous post), so expect tons of shit to go down, including transfer confirmations, wild rumour-mongering, Sasquatch sightings, etc.

STRONG DISCLAIMER: I (and JG) will be on hand to admin this liveblog intermittently today (and tomorrow, for those of us in the later time zones), so comments may take a while (read: a few hours, perhaps) to be published. But we will read and respond to all questions and comments.

With that in mind, here we go:

Nice window. Congrats. Benayoun will keep the medical staff busy now that Fabregas isn't around to do so (kidding! kidding!) and Arteta is class. Couple that with the defensive shoring up, and the season is looking a lot better for you. Any thoughts on what might have happened had the club started earlier in trying to make deals? Was Hazard ever a real possibility?

He's been a rumor mill name for two years now. I can imagine the club going on a run for him next year. Much like how Mertesacker has been a rumor for two seasons now.

Is anyone starting to wonder what's up with the Santos/Mertesacker deals? I heard both of them break a while ago, and were supposed to be official. Still nothing on the official club website though.
