Manchester City Preview & Game Thread

By: travis | November 22nd, 2008

Kickoff is in t-minus 10 minutes so there isn’t much time for a preview. Consider this a thread to leave your thoughts before and after a must win game for the Gunners. Hard to see how this season could get much worse, but if this squad has any character, they can bounce back and win this game. Here’s a look at the squad changes via the BBC Live Text

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger leaves skipper William Gallas out of the squad after the player made derogatory comments about his team-mates this week – and Emmanuel Adebayor is also excluded. Keeper Manuel Almunia is handed the captain’s armband. The exclusion of Gallas is one of four changes (Adebayor was on the bench last time out), with Cesc Fabregas (suspension), Theo Walcott (shoulder) and Bacary Sagna (ankle) out. In come Gavin Hoyte, Johan Djourou, Alex Song and Robin van Persie.

Injuries aplenty, and Gallas has been left out. Finally, the boss stands up to his captain. Has Wenger’s serious misjudgment of his skipper cost Arsenal not only last season but this season as well? Hindsight is 20/20, but they both have to to do better than this.

Takeaway 4 key players from the other Big 3 teams and see
if they can fair any better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Having said that the coach should take full responsibility
for the disgusting performance. I would like to hear Wenger for one time only that he didn’t do a good job planning against Manchester City, but would he?
I’m not jumping off the bandwagon like the rest of the unfaithful fans over at BBC calling for the coach to resign.
