Middlesbrough Game Thread
By: Martin | April 26th, 2009Lineups are in:
Middlesbrough:
Jones
McMahon-Wheater-Huth-Taylor
O’Neil-Bates-Tuncay-Downing
Aliadiere-King
Bench: Turnbull, Hoyte, Digard, Emnes, Alves, Johnson, Grounds
As for us, it’s close to what I predicted yesterday, with Almunia coming into the squad and Eboue spelling Sagna:
Almunia
Eboue-Toure-Silvestre-Gibbs
Walcott-Fabregas-Denilson-Nasri
Bendtner-Arshavin
Bench: Fabianski, Diaby, Sagna, Vela, Song, Djourou, Adebayor
Good news about Almunia, as this will give him a chance to get game sharp again before Wednesday’s game. Worrying about Sagna, though, who has been fighting some sort of virus and has not looked like himself when he has played–hopefully this is nothing more than a precaution to give him some extra rest.
Come on Arsenal.

Arsenal won the game pretty easily! Great game for Fabregas and Arshevin. Neat pass from Bendtner. Eboue played well in the right back position. Then again, Arsenal’s defense will be the weak link agaisnt Manchester United. Silvestre can be good to block aerial ball, but he is too shaky. Kieran Gibbs is too young to play a game like this. The right back is well covered by Eboue. I say, let Eboue cover Cristiano Ronaldo wing. And let Kieran Gibbs have the other one. Or else, it will be a pure nightmare. Denilson must not play on the wings. If he does so, he needs to be at the back to help Kierian Gibbs. Then, I say:
———–Alumnunia————-
Eboue—-Silvestre—Toure(hecanhelpgibbs)—-Gibbs
Nasri—–Diaby——Song\Denilson——Walcott
————Fabregas—————–
———–Adebayor—————-
