Newcastle Preview

By: travis | August 30th, 2008

Time for just a quick preview of today’s matchup against Newcastle. A big game, despite being the third match of the season. Arsene’s kids will be out to build on the 4-0 win over Twente this week, and to recover in the league from the embarrassment against Fulham last week.

I feel alright about this game. Hard to get a vibe on how the team will come out and perform, although seeing that it is at home, they’ll probably be much more fired up to prove something in front of a home crowd. The same exact squad that played against Twente will be out on the pitch tonight, although expect a few different starters. Newcastle doesn’t scare me all that much, and they’ve just lost James Milner, one of their more refined midfielders. Obefemi Martins and Michael Owen can always but the ball in the goal if they are playing well. Other than that, a win is definitely required. That goes without saying.
