Pool on the Morrow

Arsenal go Merseyside tomorrow to face Liverpool in a third-round FA cup match. Even without the remaining injuries, Arsenal would be hard pressed to get the win. Liverpool are on a nice run as of late, the home-scouse advantage can’t be overlooked.
Pool striker Craig Bellamy certainly thinks playing at home will be enough to beat the Gunners:
“You want to make things as easy for yourself as possible and Arsenal’s not an easy game. But we’re at home, and having that advantage will be a key factor for us I think. We’ll be confident come kick-off and we know the stadium’s going to be packed to capacity - everyone’s going to be up for it.”
Back-in-business Arsenal captain Thierry Henry has taken time to praise the team’s play in his absence. He was especially kind to his skipper stand-in, Gilberto:
“We have won so many games while missing important players, so I think people should give credit to the players who deserve it. Being out of the team injured for a few weeks has meant that I can see and hear things from a different perspective - and I do want to pay credit to Gilberto. He has been an amazing player for Arsenal for years, but it seems like he has to score goals before he gets the credit he deserves. I would say he has been our most consistent player this season, he is scoring goals, making vital tackles, and he deserves more credit.”
Liverpool are certainly favored, and I think tapping the Reds is the most sensical move. But I’m under no orders to be sensical, so I’ll take the Arsenal 2-1.
