Sir, Your Pants Are on Fire

By: Trent | March 16th, 2007

pantsonfire.jpgArsenal boss Arsene Wenger levelled his Liar, Liar accusation against a linesman during the fall out of the Gunners’ Carling Cup final loss to Chelsea. You may recall that A-Dub said the linesman lied when he reported that Emmanuel Adebayor punched Frank Lampard during an end-of-the-match melee. You may also recall that the FA denied that the linesman reported such a punch.

But the FA likes to let bygones be bygones, and that was the end of it.

Um, not so much. The FA has now charged Wenger with improper conduct, and the boss can likely expect a heavy fine to come his way.

In other A-Dub news, the war of words between Wenger and France national coach Raymond Domenech is escalating, and now Michel Platini is jumping into the fray.

I think you’ll find this podcast very interesting.

Arseblog is the most popular Arsenal blog and it has a weekly podcast that includes great interviews. This week there’s a reporter from France Football talking about the whole Domenech-Wenger feud, Henry’s injuries and Gallas’ outspokenness. This guy says that in France among football pundits and other insiders Domenech is really considered quite mad. He also said something that is pretty shocking and that leaves veteran French football journalists astonished: Domenech (unlike most international managers) never goes to club games involving French players. He’s never once contacted Wenger to ask him how a particular player is doing, he’s never established any sort of communication with any managers of clubs with French players.
