Spurs Fighting Has Already Begun!
By: Trent | January 16th, 2007Not content to wait for matchday, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have taken their North London rivalry to the ticket booth.
Ahead of the clubs’ Carling Cup two-leg semi-final, Arsneal are apparently refusing to give Spurs the normal seating allocation of 15%. This would of course mean nearly 9,000 Spurs fans in the Emirates Stadium, which admittedly sound horrifying. Arsenal say that crowd segregation issues prevent giving Spurs the full allocation.
I don’t think lifelong, diehard Spurs fan Bill Simmons has yet weighed in on the issue.

9000 does seem a lot to me, especially since it’s a local derby.
(But then, I follow La Liga and its non-existent away day culture. Barca and Real Madrid’s allocation for each other, in stadiums with 100000 and 80000 capacity respectively? 250.)
