Too Dear for the Miami Dolphins
By: Trent | September 20th, 2007
I guess the exchange rate really is putting a pinch on international travel. The NFL’s Miami Dolphins are heading to London next month to play the New York Giants in a regular season matchup at Wembley. But the gridiron football team, worth an estimated $.942 billion, couldn’t get the scratch together to train at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground.
Apparently the quote given by Arsenal, which included the extra work needed to re-mark the pitch with the familiar gridiron hashmarks, was too steep for the Dolphins. Instead, they will prepare for the Giants at the London Wasps’ rubgy training facility.
Who knew white spray paint was so expensive these days?
