Villareal v Arsenal Game Thread

By: travis | April 7th, 2009

Lineups are up — kickoff just under 45 minutes away. I’m hoping to catch bits of the game but that could be more difficult than I think.

Villarreal: Diego Lopez, Angel, Godin, Rodriguez, Capdevila, Cani, Senna, Eguren, Ibagaza, Rossi, Llorente. Subs: Viera, Pires, Franco, Fernandez, Nihat, Javi Venta, Fuentes.
Arsenal: Almunia, Sagna, Toure, Gallas, Clichy, Denilson, Song Billong, Fabregas, Walcott, Nasri, Adebayor. Subs: Fabianski, Vela, Silvestre, Djourou, Bendtner, Eboue, Gibbs.

A 4-5-1 with a similar look from Saturday. Bendtner on the bench again. Vela will probably get in the game at some point, as might Eboue. Here’s hoping for three points, and if you haven’t already, be sure to read Martin’s preview. Leave your thoughts before, during and after the game below. Don’t forget to follow along with The Offside liveblog either.

Three yellow cards, two injuries, one goal conceded. Oof. Not a good half, we need to pick it up here in the second half. Come on Gunners.

Great goal from Adebayor, though. Phew.

Very poor first half, very very poor. it was my first time to see arsenal out passed through out the first half. and what made it worst is picking 3 stupid yellow cards and 2 injuries. After some words from the Prof. Arsene Wenger we saw a more dangerous Arsenal who dominated the second half which gave us a good away goal. At the end good job lads keep the good work and hopefully villareal will see the true arsenal at home.

Herd Ade scored a cracker. Well done on a good away result. You should be able to take care of them at the Emirates…
