Who DOESN’T Have an American Sugar Daddy These Days?

By: Trent | April 6th, 2007

sugardaddy.jpgWell, Chelsea I suppose. At any rate, Arsenal aren’t up to ManYoo, Villa or ‘Pool levels yet, but American businessman Stan Kroenke has acquired a 9.9% stake in the club. Kroenke, pictured at left, already owns the Colorado Rapids of MLS.

Also to be included in the deal is a 50 percent stake in Arsenal Broadband Limited. Whether Kroenke is planning an all-out takeover of the Gunners is unknown.

Maybe the new white away kits, which seem to be universally deplored, can be substituted for a stars and stripes ensemble.

I still really like the idea of Roman Abramovich’s ex acquiring Arsenal with the divorce settlement, as was reported somewhere. There’s a certain…symmetry to that arrangement.

Is that the new sponsor for Arsenal’s kits?

Laurie, that’s a truly twisted idea. I love it.
