Wigan v Arsenal Lineups & Game Thread

By: travis | April 11th, 2009

Is a fifth league win in a row on the cards today? I would say the prospects look good, although Wigan is always a tough challenge away from the Emirates. Here are the lineups via the BBC:

Wigan: Kirkland, Melchiot, Boyce, Bramble, Figueroa, Valencia, Watson, Brown, Rodallega, Scharner, Mido. Subs: Pollitt, Kingson, Koumas, De Ridder, Kapo, Sibierski, Edman.
Arsenal: Fabianski, Sagna, Toure, Djourou, Gibbs, Walcott, Denilson, Song Billong, Arshavin, Fabregas, Bendtner. Subs: Szczesny, Nasri, Van Persie, Vela, Silvestre, Adebayor, Eboue

A 4-5-1 again, with Fabregas going forward perhaps? Either that or Arshavin. Nasri with a rest, RVP on the bench and Eduardo still recovering as well. As Martin predicted, Adebayor is left out for a rest. I don’t know about you, but that’s a solid group of players on the bench. Leave all match reactions before, during and after the game below. Here’s to three points.

I didn’t get to see it either. But it sounds like our hero Bendtner missed several more chances. Good thing the others are getting healthy again. And some of our guys got a decent rest ahead of a big week.

I guess we don’t draw enough viewers for Setanta, who even televised the early Liverpool game or they are ANTI Arsenal like the BBC who hates this team. If you use their website for info. you’ll know exactly what I mean Anti Arsenal and Anti France. I was obliged to watch the Man U match at the bar and they had the Chelsea match on as well. As usual a lucky deflection saved their behind.
Very happy to see Arsenal explode for 4 goals, and I seriously think that Bendtner should consult with a sports psychologist, the confidence of this young man has vanished and it’s more of a disservice to him and the club to have him miss opportunities.

A very good come back by arsenal, but still why do we always have to do it the hard, I was on the edge of my seat until our first goal, lets hope we gun down villareal and qualify for the semis!

Funny that even Silvestre and Song are better finishers than Nick! What a great player Alexandre Song has turned out to be!

I think the only place for EXTENDED highlights would be
at the Gunners website, but you gotta sign in and not sure if it is for free!
