You Remember the Premiership, Yeah?
By: Trent | March 14th, 2007Seems like a long time since the Arsenal lined one up in the English Premier League. And as discussed, finishing fourth or better is the team’s lone remaining goal for the season apart from general improvement.
To celebrate the return to League play, the Gunners defeated Aston Villa 1-0 in Birmingham this evening. The lone goal came courtesy of Abou Diaby, who, erm, wisely let a Julio Baptista shot bounce off of him at just the right angle and into the goal.
Jeremie Aliadiere probably should have netted once (or thrice) for the visitors, but Cesc Fabregas’ play in the midfield was enough to help the Arsenal move into third in the table, two points ahead of Liverpool with a game in hand.
