Freddie: Adieu
By: Trent | July 23rd, 2007
The expected has happened. Fredrick Ljungberg has officially made the move to West Ham. Arsene Wenger–who still knows–signed Freddie in 1998 after having only seen him play on TV. 216 appearances later, Freddie had scored 46 goals, 2 Prem titles and 3 FA Cups later, Super Sexy himself moves across town to become a Hammer.
His best season for the Gunners was probably 2002, when he was named player of the year in the Premiership. His 17 goals from midfield helped propel Arsenal to the double.
And coincidentally-on-purpose, after the jump enjoy a Freddie goal from 2002…against West Ham. Definitely the end of an era. Ha det god, Freddie.

Will Wenger be next Trent? What’s really going on at the Arsenal?

Hard to say Nick. It’s difficult to blame Arsene if he thinks now would be a good time for him to go. But there is a lot of young talent at the club, and leaving now wouldn’t give Arsenal much time to get a new manager.
So…I think he stays, but for how long I can’t say. Sorta like how I feel about Cesc, really.
