Hleb out for the remainder of the season
By: travis | April 23rd, 2008
Alexander Hleb has been suspended for three games for ‘violent conduct’, aka bitch slapping Graham Murty of Reading. I recommend you pop over here to see the video, augmented by Murty’s reaction. I’m not criticizing just him, but players need to cut that out. Stop fishing for cards. Murty looks like he’s a bit tougher than that.
As far as Hleb, some people reckon that this is could mean his Arsenal career could be finished. The boss says that it’s a stupid idea for him to leave. Or that he won’t leave because of ‘our potential’. Regardless of the case, Hleb had a less than remarkable season. He had fewer goals than William Gallas, and one more than Phillippe Senderos. There’s not doubt that Hleb is a great player, but for an attacking midfielder, he struggles to score goals. So if Arsenal could cash in on him, but turn around and buy a player to replace him, I’d be all for it.
