Rams to the slaughter…
By: travis | April 27th, 2008Sadly, another meaningless game. Unless of course, both Chelsea and Man United lose all their remaining games. If that happens (odds are about 1 in 10000000000000000), Arsenal wins the league - assuming winning their remaining games. Since that isn’t going to happen, I’ll focus on today’s match against the already relegated Derby County.
Last match against Derby was a 5-0 drubbing, back during the high times of the year. This encounter should feature a number of new players for us, since Wenger declared that he may rest plays ahead of the Euro 2008 tournament. So possibly Cesc, Gallas, Van Persie, Lehmann may not feature at all. In fact, third string keeper Lukasz Fabianski is set to make his premier league debut.
In other news, the Hleb drama continues, with the boss directing his ire towards Inter, while Hleb claims to be in the dark, not knowing if he’ll be sold. Seems a bit odd since they went out for ice cream, but hopefully that is some sort of reassurance that he’ll stay.
This off-season is shaping up to be quite interesting, as the future of a number of players is shrouded in mystery. A decision on Flamini is expected next week, and the future of Senderos and Gilberto have come into question as well.
As for Derby, anything less than a 5-0 win is a disappointing result.
