Ryan Babel Not Headed to Arsenal…Yet
By: Trent | June 26th, 2007
Fact is, Wenger could use a winger, and Ryan Babel just may the bloke for job. But the rumours in the Netherlands are that Babel will be playing again for Ajax next season. Babel has looked great for the Netherlands’ U-21 team this year.
Oddly, the young Dutchman also says: “There will be a time that I will play at Arsenal. But there is nothing at the moment.” Hmm.
In other transfer whisperings, this site says Carlitos Tevez may be headed to North London, or anyway is intrigued by the idea. Of course, Bob’s source says he’s on his way to Inter, so we’ll see.
And although Barcelona may have nicked Thierry Henry, Barca president Joan Laporta sez they won’t make a play for Wenger himself. Although statements like “Frank Rijkaard is the best coach that Barca have” would not inspire confidence if I were the current gaffer at the Nou Camp. As for Wenger, it appears he’s actually closer to penning a new deal with the Arsenal.
