Trent Apple has been called the Honoré de Balzac of football writers, although not to his face, which may lend credence to the theory that the moniker is bestowed corporeally and not literarily.

Trent will be blogging here about Arsenal, the greatest football team in North London. At least. He hopes to have Arsene Wenger do some guest posts here on the site. Of course, he also hopes to suit up for the Gunners by Boxing Day, so please, no breath-holding.

Trent also covers Ecuador for the World Cup Blog, a site that attracted over 3 million readers during Germany 2006. Since Trent is writing about Arsenal for The Offside, it’s as if he won promotion after blogging about Crystal Palace at Absolute Cracker for lo these many years.
