Welcome to the Arsenal Blog at The Offside
By: Trent | October 4th, 2006My name is Trent, and due to a grievous scheduling error and a case of mistaken identity, I have been asked to blog about Arsenal of the English Premier League. For the Philistines out there, that’s football. Which is like soccer, only with less Capri Sun at halftime. With the opening of the new Emirates Stadium in North London, we felt it appropriate to give the Gunners a fresh-out-of-the-oven blog here on the interwebs.
We’re hoping that Arsenal fans, football fans, and, even, Arsenal haters will really enjoy the blog. We’ll be covering Arsenal from every conceivable angle; wins and losses, sure, but also sharing recipes for Arsene Wenger’s favorite cocktail and letting you know that if Thierry Henry had his flat wallpapered, why he chose such a terrible pattern.
But you needn’t be rabid about the beautiful game to enjoy this site. Indeed, you needn’t know much about global sports at all. Even if you think Dida is an anti-art movement, or that Tiki Barber is a Polynesian hairstylist, we’ve room for you.
I covered Ecuador for the BootsnAll guys during the 2006 World Cup at World Cup Blog, and am still posting about La Tricolor over there. And for a few years I’ve been following Crystal Palace over at Absolute Cracker.
Anyway, please check back here often for cripplingly witty posts and thoroughly outsider information. Ah hell, just bookmark it already.
As Richard Pryor might say if he were here (and wouldn’t that be creepy)…I would like to make you laugh…I would like to make you cry…I would like to make you.
